Whack City

With Hip-Hop making a very strong come back, it got me to thinking about when and where the decline originally began. Of course there's no clear single thing that sent Hip-Hop into its downward spiral, but I'm gonna attempt to do my best to name 10 contributors of the last decade or so that added to the downfall and rappers that are keeping it down:

1 - Drake - You may also know this fool as the Singing Actor. Aubrey is an actor, an actor by definition is, and I quote "A person whose profession is acting on the stage, in movies, or on television or a person who behaves in a way that is not genuine." With that said, he is acting like a rapper plain and simple. Plus, I'm not really interested in a rapper that wants to be a Pop queen.

2 - Ja Rule - I'm not trying to hear a cat serenade me on 10 out of 12 tracks. Jodeci made harder songs than Ja.

3 - Mike Jones - Mike made it acceptable to repeat lyrics 3 to 4 times like you droppin hot verses. No Mike Jones, I said, No Mike Jones. If Mike gives you 100 bars, 80 of them are duplicates. Most of the time I didn't know if he was still rappin or my CD skipped.

4 - Jermaine Dupri - He should of went to prison for child labor. He used kids to make music targeted towards adults. He also made Janet Jackson feel unwanted and that in its on should have him thrown into an insane asylum.

5 - Soulja Boy - He is lameness made flesh. Can't see how he was ever taken serious or sold a single damn thing. I get an extreme feeling of nausea when I hear anything he is on.

6 - Plies - Do I really need to give you a reason for this one? Google him.

7 - Nelly - I don't think Nelly is a great rapper, but he is tolerable. He made the list because he commercialized Air Force 1's and over night made the price jump for the lows, mids, and highs at least $20. He made Forces cool for everybody, and that ain't cool at all lol.

8 - Lil Boosie - Boosie made the ignorant think it's cool to commit a crime, go to jail, and get love and support from the public. Excuse my cliche use, but "if you do the crime, you do the time". For people to actually show support by displaying "Free (insert criminal name here)" on any and every venue they can, is simply idiotic. If that made any sense at all we might as well have signs saying "Free Charles Manson" or "Free Zimmerman" (if he ever gets arrested).

9 - Jim Jones - The worst rapper in a group of terrible rappers. Don't let the flash fool you, he was just as whack as his lyrics.

10 - Lil Wayne - He clearly feel off when his ghostwriter started writing less and less for him. He never consistently raps at a high level, but wants to be seen as the best when he releases trash. He will NEVER be considered one of the best in real hip hop eyes.

I know a lot of these aren't valid reasons why they hurt the game, but dammit they work for me. They have decent to above average beats and the public dubs the song a hit. Thumbs down to that BS, they need to give those beats to rappers that can really make magic with them. There are probably more rappers I could have included as well (Gucci, 2 Chainz, Waka), but there isn't enough time in my day for that.
